Getting your free quote and consultation is an easy and stress-free process. Simply call one of our friendly office staff on 01304 611967 and they will answer any questions you may have and arrange an initial visit. Alternatively, you can contact us online stating your name, contact details and a brief description of the work you would like done and one of our knowledgeable office staff will contact you.
I want to redecorate my house, will my carpets/flooring be protected?
Yes. Our decorating team use tough, heavy-duty floor and carpet protector to fully shield all floor areas from paint and dust. Furthermore, any furniture that has to remain in rooms will also be protected using dust and waterproof plastic covering.
How often should I paint the exterior of my house?
In general, it is recommended that you repaint the exterior of your property every 5-7 years. This, however, depends on various factors including the location of your home and the weather conditions it is exposed to. Properties on the coast for example, can be affected by high winds that drive rain and sea salt into the exterior of the building causing paint to deteriorate at a faster rate. At PA Hollingworth Decorating, we use specialist high quality exterior paints that are designed to protect against these adverse coastal conditions and can provide up to 15 years of protection.
Should I use water or oil based paint?
Both paints have their advantages and disadvantages. Our knowledgeable and experienced decorating experts will be able to discuss the best paint options for your home during the initial consultation.
Will I have to buy the paint myself?
No. Your free written quote will include all costs, including paint and materials. Our team will then source and purchase all the high quality products needed to decorate your home. If you wish to supply the paint yourself however, this perfectly fine also.
My walls are very old and I don’t want to replaster. Do you recommend lining paper as a cheaper alternative?
Using a thick lining paper over old or damaged walls can be a cheaper alternative to replastering and, when done professionally, can lead to an impressive finish. However, it is recommended that lining paper be replaced every 4-5 coats of paint to avoid sagging and separation at the seams.
Do I need to empty the room?
We ask that all items and signage be removed from the room prior to work commencing.
Do you offer out of hours decorating so my business can stay open?
Yes. At PA Hollingworth we will work around you so your business is uninterrupted during decoration. This includes working outside of normal working hours and during weekends.
If you decorate my business overnight will it be dry by the morning?
In most cases yes, the paint will be dry ready for you to open and operate your business as usual. This however does depend on the conditions present at the property such as weather, heating and ventilation. If drying time could be an issue, our decorating manager will advise on quick drying solutions.
How will you protect the public whilst you are carrying out decorating work?
PA Hollingworth take the health & safety of our employees and the public very seriously. We provide extensive written Risk Assessments for each project which evaluate all possible risks and how these will be controlled. In addition to this, there will be comprehensive signage on site to highlight any possible dangers to the public.
