PA Hollingworth Decorating Contractors have been tasked with renovating a historical property in the heart of Deal, Kent. Although a stunning property, it requires extensive decorating and remedial work (carried out by PA Hollingworth main contractors) to restore it to its full potential.
With links to Lord Nelson, the historical significance of this property is not underestimated by PA Hollingworth Decorating team. Great care is being taken to ensure we are sympathetic to the property at all times, with regular discussions taking place with Heritage officers.
Following a full re-wire from PA Hollingworth Electrical Contractors, our team began to restore this striking Georgian property from top to bottom.
Many of the walls and ceilings were wallpapered throughout the property, and due to the paper’s age, was failing. This paper had to be removed and the walls meticulously filled and sanded. Once our decorating team repeated the fill and sand process several times, they were ready to re-line ceilings and walls, providing a “like new” finish.
The client expressed a desire to restore the period mouldings, skirting and sash windows back to their original state. There had been multiple years of paint build up, resulting in lost detail on much of the woodwork. PA Hollingworth Decorators relished the challenge and have begun to methodically strip back the paint, revealing stunning original mouldings and period features.
