The goal for this client in Ripple, near Deal, Kent was to decorate a newly-built single-story extension with external paving and landscaping. This single story extension was constructed to the rear of a period house situated in a lovely rural area near Deal, Kent. After the demolition of an existing conservatory and replacement with this tastefully conceived extension, the project was beautifully finished with a simple, elegant finish, including all paintwork, wood stain, trim and more.
The ceiling is vaulted to give a feeling of space and has 4 large Velux roof windows installed to provide the needed light to the inner rooms. Vaulted ceilings prove to be a difficult area for most clients to reach themselves and are popular with getting in the professionals, who have the scaffolding to do the job safely. The external windows and doors were all supplied by George Barnsdale (http://www.georgebarnsdale.co.uk) in Lincolnshire, a company which manufactures top quality windows and doors to achieve modern requirements. We have been using George Barnsdale products for several years everything carries long warranties on both the frames and the decorations.
The lounge area was fitted with bi-folding doors which is a great way of bringing the outside in during the summer months whilst providing unhindered views all year round. The exterior consisted of a slip level patio and steps, hard formed using blue engineering bricks and infilled with a riven sandstone paving slab. The floor was split level and was tiled using a tastefully selected Victorian style pattern over underfloor heating. Lighting was in the form of downlights mixed with external lighting around the paved area and all looks very warm and welcoming at night
The aim was to complete for Christmas and our cleaners were the last out on Tuesday 22nd December, everyone happy, making a great-looking addition to our clients home.
